Who We Are
The Lake Erie Heritage Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit, committed to preserving and promoting the maritime history and rich cultural legacy of Lake Erie together with surrounding communities.
Through educational experiences, environmental updates, engaging events and meaningful commemorations, we strive to encourage all generations to explore the history that shaped our region – from the fight for American independence to the defining moments of the War of 1812 and beyond.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire stewardship, ignite civic pride, connect people of all ages to the enduring spirit of freedom, resilience and unity flowing from Lake Erie’s shores. By celebrating our history, we create opportunities to experience the heritage, remember the heroic actions of many who helped shape our today and re-affirm the significance of this vital Great Lake.

Through speaking engagements, print materials and relevant event promotions we bring forward the rich historical legacy of the Lake Erie region.
We Partner
We partner with organizations and communities to assist in fundraising and promotion of our core purpose, to honor the history of Lake Erie, its place in our past and relevance to future generations.
